Welcome!
Please take the time to read the following information about our group. It will help you decide whether or not you would like to join us.

We are a parent run group affiliated with the Playgroup Association of NSW. We offer an English Speaking session, which meets in the Children's Resource Centre in Enmore Park. Enmore Park Playgroup meets every Wednesday from 10am till 12 noon, with the exception of a four week period around Christmas/New Year.

Our Philosophy
At Enmore Park Playgroup we aim to provide an environment which is safe, friendly and fun for the children and their carers who attend. Each carer will be responsible for the child/children in their care whilst at playgroup. If your child is allergic to anything you should make it known to all. We respect that individual carers have different styles of caring for their children and believe that playgroup is a non-smacking zone, where we try to model the behaviours we wish to encourage in our children. We think of playgroup as an opportunity for making new friends and as such we endeavour to keep our group small enough that the children and carers are able to get to know each other. We have a maximum number of "regular" children of around 25.

Session Routine
As members arrive they record their attendance in the Day Book in the kitchen, and pay their session fee ($2.00 per family) in the money box. On arrival toys & equipment that you would like your child to play with should be taken out. In the storeroom next to the door to the yard you will find large play equipment, a craft cupboard, a number of toy cupboards and a cupboard for supplies and our first aid kit. The children have free playtime, or they may join in an organized activity if there is one planned for that session.

Morning tea consists of the communal fruit platter, sandwiches & something savoury which we all contribute to and what ever else you may wish to bring for your child and self. We have a no nut policy. This means no foods containing nuts and no nut spreads eg. peanut butter & nutella. Please keep this in mind if making homemade goodies too.

At pack up time all toys and equipment are put away, any toys that have been in children's mouths must be washed. Dishes are washed, tables wiped, windows closed, the floors mopped and rubbish put out. From time to time, soft toys, baby rugs and tea towels may also need to be taken home and laundered. These tasks are shared amongst all members. Many hands make light work

All jobs that must be done to keep the playgroup running are shared amongst who ever are present. Participation is voluntary but the jobs are essential. Please take a turn with whatever you can.
